Basic Uses: ABET LAMINATI Horizontal
Postforming Grade 0.9 mm is manufactured for interior horizontal and vertical surfaces. Typical horizontal
applications include work surfaces on counters, table tops, residential and commercial furniture, case goods,
store fixtures, and work stations. Vertical applications include wall panels, cabinet walls, doors, toilet
partitions, elevator cab interiors, front panels of workstations in hospitals, restaurants, retail stores, and
airports. This grade also has the capability of postforming to achieve radius edges for counters, desktops,
and store fixtures.
Metals are never recommended for horizontal surfaces where wear and traffic are an issue. In general,
darker laminates show scratches more readily than lighter colors. Consider this when choosing a surface that
experiences traffic.
ABET LAMINATI high pressure decorative laminate is manufactured by pressing melamine impregnated print and
solid color surface sheets over a phenolic impregnated kraft paper core at pressures over 1000 psi and temperatures
of approximately 300 degrees F (149 degrees C). The backs are sanded to facilitate bonding to a substrate.
ABET LAMINATI high pressure decorative laminate is not recommended for exterior applications or for bonding
to gypsum wallboard, plaster, concrete or plywood. This product is not a structural material and is to be used
bonded to a suitable substrate. Do not use in areas with extreme humidity conditions or temperatures higher than
275 degrees F (135 degrees C) for extended periods of time. This product is not to be exposed to continuous, direct
sunlight. Metalli laminates do not meet regular wear resistance requirements and should not be used in high wear areas.
Surface scratches are as much a function of color and finish as surface hardness. In general, Lucida (gloss)
finish and darker colors show scratches more than Sei (matte) finish and lighter colors.
Cost varies with quantity, pattern, finish and other factors. Contact your ABET representative for pricing.
This grade is available in a full range of solid colors, woodgrains, patterns, stones, metals,

The hard, durable melamine surface of decorative high pressure laminates (HPL) will maintain
its attractive appearance longer than most decorative surfacing materials. ABET LAMINATI decorative
high pressure laminates require minimal maintenance under normal use and conditions.
Used extensively in chemical, analytical, micro-biological
and educational laboratories world-wide, Trespa
TopLabPLUS is resistant to a large number of aggressive
chemicals. Test results (see separate Trespa TopLabPLUS test
datasheet) show the panel’s 24 hour resistance. Aggressive
chemicals will not mark a Trespa TopLabPLUS surface - if
cleaned within this time period.
Use a clean, damp cloth or sponge with a mild soap, detergent, or household cleaner to clean
the surface. Some general purpose cleaners that may be used include PineSol®, Formula 409®, Top Job®,
Lestoil®, Fantastik®, Joy®, Dow Bathroom Cleaner®, and ammoniated base glass cleaners such as Windex®.
For difficult stains such as coffee or tea use a nylon bristle brush with mild household cleaner
or detergent, rinsing with clean water and repeating as necessary. If a stain persists, use Soft Scrub®
(without bleach) or baking soda paste with water and apply with a soft bristled brush. Light scrubbing
in a circular motion should remove most difficult stains. These products are slightly abrasive, so
excessive scrubbing or exerting too much force may damage the decorative surface. Do not use on gloss
finish laminates.
For stubborn stains that resist the above cleaning methods, use acetone (nail polish remover),
denatured alcohol, or undiluted household bleach. Do not allow the bleach to stand on the surface for
longer than 2 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat if the surface has not been affected and
the stain appears to be disappearing.
PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO BLEACH WILL CAUSE DISCOLORATION OF THE LAMINATE SURFACE.
Abrasive cleaners and pads may permanently dull and scratch the laminate surface. Harsh chemicals
such as oven cleaner, toilet cleaner, rust remover, ceramic cooktop cleaners, or drain cleaner will
discolor and/or etch the surface of decorative high pressure laminates. This includes any cleaners
containing acid, alkali, or sodium hypochlorite (bleach). If any of these products are spilled on the
surface of the laminate, remove immediately, rinse thoroughly with water, and wipe dry.
Cookware still hot from the stove or oven should not be placed directly on the laminate surface.
While high pressure laminates are heat resistant, exposure to temperatures above 135 degrees C
(275 degrees F) is not recommended.
Never use sharp objects such as knives directly on the surface of decorative high pressure laminates.
Use a chopping block or cutting board.
