PaperStone is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper and our proprietary PetroFree phenolic resins. Its unique beauty, functionality and reliability offers an exciting alternative to more traditional solid surfaces. Using pigments rather than dyes assures superior UV resistance, color stability and even distribution of color throughout the entire panel. PaperStone is certified to Forest Stewardship Council standards by the Smartwood program of the Rainforest Alliance.
Phenolic resin and paper composites have long been known to have superior tensile, compression, impact and flexural strengths. They are very abrasion resistant, absorb virtually no water and are the products of choice in applications requiring high fire resistance. PaperStone has a Class A fire rating.
Mechanical attachments stay secure
Remains structurally rigid and sound in both vertical and horizontal applications
Can be fabricated and installed using traditional woodworking tools with high quality carbide-tipped blades
Creative edge details can be achieved with traditional tooling
Properly bonded seams remain tight and nearly invisible
Long lasting lifetime product with superior scratch, dent and chip resistanc
Superior strength allows innovative cantilevered design capabilities, up to 18 unsupported overhang with 3/4-inch material.
Natural earth-tone colors are soft to the touch and offer a warm, distinctive ambience to any room.
Non-porous surface provides a lifetime of stain resistance.
Excellent color stability, resists the effects of exposure to ultraviolet rays.
Can be installed with the same carbide-tipped tools and techniques used in working with fine hardwoods.
Washes clean with sponge and dishwashing liquid.
With proper cleaning, does not promote growth of bacteria, mold or mildew
Heat resistant up to 350ฐ F (175ฐ C); use of a trivet or hot pad is recommended.
Depending on the project, using PaperStone may contribute toward seven LEED points in the categories of Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality and Innovation and Design.
PaperStone has been thoroughly tested and certified as VOC-free, including formaldehyde, by the desiccant method test, the most demanding test available.
